Vapornation is proud to offer the AroMed Vaporizer 4.0 which is hand crafted in Germany. The AroMed Vaporizer 4.0 produces a vapor free of any harmful substances using hot air and an advanced water filtration system. The hot air for the AroMed Vaporizer 4.0 is generated by an ultraviolet-free halogen light bulb controlled by a microprocessor situated above the aromatherapy blend so that the active substance is released only during inhalation which can be observed from the glass holder. As an Aromatherapy or Phyto Inhalation (directly administering an aromatherapy blend's active ingredients) device, the AroMed Vaporizer 4.0 is a popular vaporizer among enthusiasts.

The AroMed Vaporizer 4.0 is able to extract more than 90% of the active substances from any medicinal aromatherapy blend or tincture and prevents tars and carcinogenic substances along with dust particles from entering the lungs. This unit comes with a 3 year warranty.

The Aromed was easy to put together and use from day 1. I keep reading concerns about the glass components, but would characterize the glassware as well built, sturdy and high quality. I have no concerns handling it, and would recommend twisting the stem to loosen it if it feels stuck in the beaker neck. We are so enjoying the quality of the vapor, and find this a great improvement over smoking or the handheld vaporizers we've tried. My partner with asthma really appreciates the water feature and smooth vapor. I'm still learning on the optimum temperature, and when exactly the herb is spent. I recommend an external support to the end of the tubing as it leaves the beaker, as this tends to crimp unless you hold it up in the air, which leads to resting ones arm on the metal tube, which I fear may fatigue the metal or connection points eventually.
Great product with great results, and cheaper than the alternatives I was considering!

Especially with my partner's asthma, it's great to have the cooling effect of the water phase, with no hacking or coughing.

Vaporizers I own: Volcano Digit, Davinci Ascent

Pros of Aromed:
1) I can inhale for a good 20 seconds with no issues whatsoever. It's a really smooth vape. I can't do this with the Volcano.

2) Taste is really good. It's not as good on the Davinci in my opinion, maybe because it's getting a little water filtration. I'd say the taste is actually a little better than the Volcano because the vape is always fresh (rather than sitting idle in a bag for a while).

3) The draw resistance isn't bad at all. It's not as good as the volcano, where there is practically ZERO draw resistance, but the draw resistance here is hardly noticeable.

4) It doesn't take much to fill up the chamber and get a good vape sesh. .5 grams is pushing it for capacity, depending on how you prep it. I use a space case grinder and average .3 to .5 grams per use.

5) Aside from the glass pieces, this thing is built to last. The heating element is separate from the rest of the unit which is good for longevity of all electrical components inside the main unit.

Cons of Aromed:
1) The glass pieces. Horrible design, I'm sorry. I have generously oiled the stem each time before use and 3 of my first 4 times it fused together with the basin. I finally separated the damn thing each time but not without chipping the lip of the basin. It's just frustrating because this is a known issue and has not been addressed. If it's going to fuse together, it needs to ship with some industrial grade lube or something. And I've tried everything. Like, I've tried hooking the stem/chamber piece to the heating element BEFORE sticking it in the water reservoir but it still stuck. I've resorted to a thin piece of foam (like band-aid thin) that I wrap around the stem connector before attaching it to the water reservoir. This seems to work.

2) Set up and take down times. This is amplified by the fact that I can't use it as intended and have to rig it so that the stem doesn't get stuck each time. But after vaping for a while, you sometimes don't feel like doing ANYTHING. With the volcano, it's eezy peezy and all you have is a bag to put away. Here, you have the herb chamber, water rig, tubing, and it's just more of an operation to take down and clean. It is a bit more prep work and take down work. So if you are self-described as incredibly lazy, go for something else.

3) It's gonna cost an extra $25 for you to use concentrates. Most other vapes that allow this feature include the pad. But here, you have to purchase it separately.

4) I was under the impression that unless I was breathing in, there wouldn't be any vaping. But when I'm not breathing in, toward the first 5 draws of my vape session, I can see vapor leaving the herbs and just swirling in the herb chamber.

5) It's kind of a pain in the ass to actually stoke the herbs around mid session. You have to unhook the lamp and then stick something down a long chamber. With the volcano the herb chamber is must shallower and it's kind of natural to do this inbetween bags, but with this, you have to wonder if it's worth whatever effort it takes to remove the setup and move the herb around. And you will need a pipe stoker or something to get down in there. You can't just flick the side of the herb chamber with your finger to shake it up. You actually have to take it apart.

6) When you first hook the herb chamber to the heating element, there is an audible snap. It's actually not as hard as other people made it sound. But after the unit is heated up for a while, there is no longer any snap to take it on and off. So, if you stoke your herbs mid session and re hook the lamp, there will be no snap to ensure proper fit. This usually means that you have to twist the neck so it's applying pressure downward on the glass pieces to make sure it's tight. Otherwise you will notice a little lift from the lamp and where it is supposed to hook into the chamber.

All in all... I go to it when I'm vaping by myself (the whip is pretty short) because the vape quality and draw resistance is top notch. If I'm with friends or am traveling to a friends house, I will use the volcano because of ease of use.

The aromed is my favorite vaporizer. My own collection includes an herbalaire, pax, firefly , vapman, and vapor genie. This is the only vape that does not aggregate my asthma. The vapor is clean , smooth, and flavorful. My only complaint is concerning the glass herb chamber and water filter. Like some other owners, I am fearful of breaking the glass whenever I connect the light to the herb chamber. However, It has proven to be much more durable than I had expected. As long as you are careful, It should not be a problem. With that said, my glass pieces have became fused together in their first use. I followed some advice to use a cooking oil on the sanded glass areas before connecting them and yet they cannot be separated no matter how many different methods I try. This does not affect their performance or my opinion of the product. I would highly recommend this vaporizer to any person looking for a quality build and extremely effective and healthy delivery .

I love this vape. it is different than the traditional volcano and looks much better. The only problem with it is the learning curve. With most new things a learning curve generally comes along with. Once the perfect temperature is found this vape is second to none.

As advertised Review by  on November 6, 2012
Pros Better than burning.

Cons Complex

I purchased AroMed about a year ago for nausea from medication. I find the approach to heating the herb to be as advertised, the same principle as a devince but with less heat.

I find it easy to use. Plug in, turn on heating element, wait about 30 seconds to warm up, use, turn off heating element, unplug. The vapors are clean enough that the glass and the tube stay clean though they are beginning to yellow and will need cleaning some day.

The heater-to-glass connection (you need to disconnect to load) is a bit scary (I keep thinking I'm going to break the glass) but has proved durable. The tube is of good quality with a nice glass mouthpiece.

The glass devince is strapped to the end of the console (opposite the display) with a rubber (non-stretching) strap. It does the job well but you cannot pick up the assembly without holding your hand under the glass.

The glass stem containing the screen slips into the top of the devince and the goose-neck and heater shown reaches up and back to the top of the glass, making the entire assembly 14" (36mm) high. No photo shows this assembly.

I use such small batches I find that the screen has to be lifted closer to the heat source to be effective, even with maximum temperature. To that end I made a 5mm spacer ring out of copper pipe to place under the screen. Without the spacer, the vaporizer has no effect.

I don't taking it traveling as it is too heavy.

I purchased the Aromed 4.0 one year ago. It has worked as promised. Worth every penny and then more. I use the vaporizer between 5 - 10 times a day and have had no problems at all. Works great with ground up botanicals and botanical concentrates. I love the exact temp control and prefer 172 degrees celcius. It can be a little awkward loading it, but I have found that a small spoon does a good job. And the part that holds the water likes to tip over if it's not leaning against something. I would love to see some different bowl/water pipe options. I have only traveled with it once. Just put it in a storage box and wraped the glass in bubble wrap. The Aromed 4.0 and the glass are very high quality in my opinion. I definitely would recommend the Aromed 4.0.

AroMed Vaporizer 4.0 Review by  on March 26, 2012
Pros Well Designed Piece of Equipment, Pure Flavor

Cons None

This is an AMAZING well thought about, well design piece of equipment. It packs easily away for travel, which I love (just save the bubble wrap and junk for padding). The flavor from this is pure! I have had quiet a few vaporizers and was really torn between getting this one and a force air vaporizer. I am extremely happy with my decision.
The price was a concern for me, but when I saw how well it was made, even compared to the volcano I realized I had gotten my money's worth. Set up and running it heats up and cools down quickly thanks to its halogen lamp heat source. The temperature indicator notifies you when you are at the right temperature so there is no guess work.
It is easy to set up and looks super sexy, like some cool mad scientist contraption, which is really fun about it. Impress your friends, be in the know, be the first to own the best vaporizer on the market. I did a lot of research before I bought this one. I hope my review helped you. Enjoy your new machine!

Quick Instructions:

Setup

Step 1: Wash out the waterfilter and fill in a finger digit of water. Connect silicone tube and mouthpiece.

Step 2: Fasten the Waterfilter (flat side to electronic box) with the encluded rubber band.  Avoid splashing water!

Step 3: Fill desired into the holder. Make sure there is a space of at least 5mm between the material and the glass of the heating element.

Step 4: Now bend flexible arm with the heating element into the holder. Touch the grip carefully only above the groove. Press the grip onto the holder until they click together.

Step 5: Connect the AroMed ooo Vaporizer with DC current (90 to 250 Volts, 50 to 60 Hertz) with the net supply cable.

Vaporizing

Step 1: Press the red button at the front panel. Choose wanted vaporizing temperature with the plus+ and minus- buttons.

Step 2: While in the heating phase, a red dot is glowing constantly on the upper left side of the display. When the red dot is blinking, the system is heated to the chosen temperature. Now you can inhale soft and deeply. The red dot should blink all the time. If you inhale too hard, the red dot will glow permanently.

Step 3: Watch the plant material: if it is getting dark brown, the chosen temperature is definitely too high, adjust by pressing the “-“ button.

Step 4: To switch off the AroMed Vaporizer press the red button. The last chosen temperature will be stored. Pull the power supply cable, when not in use.

Note: We advice to clean the silicone tube, waterfilter and mouthpieces in boiling water or desinfect with proper desinfection lotion after use.
