Many people have become acquainted with the techniques involved in Vaporization. They are also familiar with the procedure which is to be followed when using a Vapor Box. However, there are still some finer points that people indulged in vaporization are not aware of. These things might not seem to be significant but can actually affect the performance of a vaporizer.
1. It is always good to stir the bowl between inhaling and hits with the poker. Be careful not to break the screen with the poker. Also, to cook the material more thoroughly, shuffle through and change the part of it, which has received the hot air first.
2. Another way of improving the inhaling experience is by rotating the glass bowl along its long axis, while taking a toke. This becomes very helpful in making the heat rise up to the top edge of the bowl. Speed of drawing the air in has to be balanced by the rotation of the glass bowl, in order to check which speed suits you best. Generally, if you are rotating too fast then you draw in a bit slowly. It basically depends from person to person.
3. One more change in the way you draw the smoke in, can increase the efficiency of a vaporizer and subsequently give you a better hit. When you inhale the heat in, you are inevitably taking the heat off of the vaporizer, which will result in it cooling off for sometime until it gets heated up. As a result, a gap is created between the hits and the time it takes to get heated again. Therefore, draw faster in the beginning but slow down towards the end, so that a vaporizer does not get time to cool down. It takes time to learn this technique but eventually, it will help you get a higher buzz.
4. Experimenting a little like putting the vapor through water or over ice can also help you get a variety in your vaporizing experience.
5. A 12-volt and a power converter is recommended for making it more portable.
6. The size of the material should be very small and fine. It should be properly grounded. Length of the bowl and moisture content in the herbal substance can also effect the performance of a vaporizer.
7. The residue left after the use of a substance is devoid of all the relevant oils and essences, but it may include a small percentage. Hence, if you are interested enough then you can extract even the remaining percentage of essences. However, it is rarely recommended due to the risk involved, as the residue is generally burned out.
Maintaining the Vapor Box
We are all aware of the advantages of vaporization but how many of us know how to effectively maintain a vaporizer? Following are some measures that you can take to maintain your vaporizer for a long time and preserve it.
1. Depending on the frequency of use, the glass, screen and tubing should be cleaned regularly. It is very easy to do this as the glass can be pulled out of the tubing and screen can be pierced through. To completely wipe out the screen off the residue or resin that it is left, simply burn it by putting a lighter to it.
2. There is no harm in reusing the screen and should replaced only when it is broken or lost. Replace it with a very fine gauge screen.
3. Clean the tube and glass by pouring hot water through them from the mouthpiece. If there is a buildup then soak the hand-piece in alcohol overnight.
One can replace the tubing at any hardware store. The tube should be a clear vinyl tubing sized 1/4” inner diameter and 3/8” outer diameter. Other sizes can be used if they make an airtight seal with the glass. The tubing can be softened by putting it under hot water for 30 seconds. It will make it more flexible.
