KandyPens K-Vape Pro Review: No Nonsense, Pure Vapor

The new KandyPens K-Vape Pro is a fantastic portable dry herb vape that fits most budgets and won’t have new vape users feeling overwhelmed when operating. Coming in at under $100, the K-Vape Pro produces cooler vapor and better flavor than other units at this price point. There are some nice, small touches KandyPens put on the K-Vape Pro to make your sessions enjoyable, from a honeycomb filter to a glass mouthpiece. It’s the little things that make this vape great.

Let’s dive into what we liked about the K-Vape Pro!

Elite Vapor Production

Compact dry herb vaporizers make for great travel companions due to their size, but sometimes they can deliver unpleasant vapor. Most dry herb vaporizers have a direct line from herb chamber to mouthpiece. If there isn’t any variance in the vapor path, your pulls will feel a little too hot or harsh, sullying your material’s flavor. KandyPens understood this problem and made a small fix that makes a big difference in your draws.

KandyPens K-Vape Pro Mouthpiece
The mouthpiece of the K-Vape Pro has an extended vapor path inside of it, helping to cool your draws with a little extra space from the oven to the end of the extended mouthpiece. At the base of the removable mouthpiece is a honeycomb filter that breaks up your vapor’s flow between the oven and your lips. This small fix makes for non-irritating vapor during long sessions.

The borosilicate glass mouthpiece does a great job of keeping your dry herb’s flavor intact due to its inertness—it’s also removable and easy to clean. After a few sessions, you should give it a spot clean; keeping the mouthpiece and oven tidy will ensure a longer device lifespan and make every session feel like the first one.

Oven wise, KandyPens recommends you load .1 grams of material inside, but if you finely grind your dry herb, you can fit a touch more inside without sacrificing vapor quality or making the battery work too hard between draws.

The ceramic oven does a great job of letting your dry herb's flavor flourish during draws. Even at the highest temperature, the essence of your material's flavor will be present during large clouds, lower temperatures lent themselves well to small, flavor-rich "sips" of vapor. If you're not looking for immediate effects and want to settle into your session more the lower temperatures are great for that.

Temperature Flexibility

Four temperature options help curate your K-Vape Pro sessions: 350 °F (yellow), 375 °F (green), 400 °F (red), and 428 °F (blue). If you’re looking to savor the flavor of your material, the two lower options will give you every aspect of your material’s profile, while remaining cool to your lips. Cloud chasers will feel more at home using the higher temperatures, and might even be surprised at how well the K-Vape Pro doesn’t overheat the material.

How To Use The K-Vape Pro

Operating the K-Vape Pro is fantastically simple. To start, remove the glass mouthpiece and load your ground dry herb—if you want thicker vapor a fine grind is recommended. After you’ve loaded your material replace the mouthpiece and click the power button 5 times to turn the unit on. Hold down the same button to begin to cycle through the temperature options, a bright LED KandyPens “K” will guide you.

Once the LED cycles to your preferred temperature let go of the button. The small LED indicator lights will turn off once the K-Vape Pro has reached temperature, and from there you’re ready to take a draw.
