Capable of producing vapor clouds on an other-worldly level, the Crafty is considered by most to be the "Rolls Royce" of portable vaporizers. Ultra-low draw resistance coupled with a revolutionary combination heating system allows for free-flowing, plentiful vapor clouds. Made by Storz & Bickel, the new Crafty Vaporizer is sure to set the standard for portable vaporization. It weighs 0.3 lbs and is only 4.3 inches tall, making it one of the most discreet vaporizers available today. Since it's manufactured by the same people who brought you the Volcano Vaporizer, you can be assured the Crafty utilizes only the highest quality components. The CRAFTY’s compact construction with a single Lithium-Ion Battery Power is complemented by a practical one button control: You turn on the CRAFTY with only one keypress.

We carry parts and accessories for the Crafty vaporizer.

Crafty Vaporizer

ONE BUTTON CONTROL SYSTEM

The Crafty's compact size is complemented by a one-button control system that makes it very simple to operate. Just one press of the button turns the Crafty on and begins the heating process. Within 60-90 seconds, the unit should reach the default temperature of 365F. If you prefer more robust vapor, just click the button again and the unit will heat up to 383F. Once the desired temperature is reached, the Crafty will vibrate and the LED indicator light will change from red to green.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

With the Crafty, as well as with the Mighty Plenty, and Volcano, vaporization functions on the basis of a full hot air convection heating combined with conduction. The convection heating provides an immediate and continuous vaporization, whereas the conduction ensures that there is vapor created from the very first breath. The Filling Chamber, which is integrated into the vaporizer, is to be filled with plant material (This is facilitated by the included Filling Aid) and the Cooling Unit with Mouthpiece is to be attached. The Cooling Unit makes sure that the vapor cools down and guarantees optimal flavor and a rich aroma.

REMOTE CONTROL APP

The free Crafty Remote Control App (compatible with iPhone 4S or higher, and Android 4.3 or higher) offers you the opportunity to set a basic default and booster temperature setting for your device according to your personal preferences. Amongst other things, the App allows you to read off the battery charge status on your smart phone, to turn on and off the vibration function of the CRAFTY and to activate an alarm and vibration function for your smart phone. You can download the Crafty Remote App from the Google Play Store or the iPhone App Store for free here.

This is a really nice compact unit and works great but the battery life span is terrible. There's no way you could go for a day trip anywhere without your charger. I maybe get 4 sessions and it dies. Should have spent the extra money I guess and bought the bigger unit.

If you find yourself in the market for $300 personal vape there isn't a better one out there. I am replacing a Davinci Ascent that broke after a year or so which worked fine but the taste on this thing is unreal. If you like to taste what you are vaping this is top notch.

This vape gets the job done, and then some. It seems like this company thought of everything. It comes with a grinder and a nifty little thing that makes packing it perfectly foolproof. It's very easy to clean and maintain and has an excellent battery life. I was blown away by the quality of the vapor. Very cool device.

Couldn't be happier... so far. Review by  on March 5, 2016

Bought the Crafty in spite of the documented failure rate by users at VapeCritic.com and elsewhere. I bought it expecting to have to return it at least twice during the 2 year warranty period. I love this little monster. I've really been putting it through its paces since I got it and it is working beautifully. The vapor quality is amazing and knowing that S&B replaces units when they fail with virtually no questions asked... it is a no brainer.

Tips: 1) get an extra cooling unit off the bat (check out the little maintenance kits) because you'll need to clean the cooling unit periodically (probably more often than you'd think) by soaking in isopropyl alcohol for a while - the most efficient way to do it - so having 2 cooling units to rotate is worth the few extra bucks; 2) put a fine screen on TOP of your vaping medium of choice after filling the chamber (it will help to keep particles from clogging up the cooling unit, making it easier to clean when the time comes); 3) remember that you can only use it while charging if the battery is over 20% (the battery is the biggest con of this unit... it drains FAST and it always seems like it takes forever to charge, though that's more about perception than reality - it charges from dead to full in about 2 hours and to 25%+ within 30 minutes); 4) if you intend to use this on the go - on long road trips, for example - the car charger is a must have (you'll probably want a longer cord than the one that comes with it); and 5) if you're an outdoorsy or off-the-grid type, one of the little portable power packs is an on-the-go solution to the Crafty's battery life shortcomings.

If you're on the fence about the Crafty, hop off. Buy now, buy now, buy now.

I bought my Crafty in July. Everything was great then in November I started having issues such as the vibrate function only worked occasionally. I then got a red/orange flashing light and on the app saying I needed to return the faulty Crafty.
This really sucked. They did send me a prepaid return postage and I have sent it back 2 days ago. Hopefully the company will fix it and all will be good. With the $339 price I would have thought this would have have a lot longer life.

I own 6 vaporizers, the Pax, Pax 2, Vapir NO2, Ascent, Plenty and the Crafty. My 2 best vapes are the Pax 2 and the Crafty, but they are quite different, The Pax is smaller, has a excellent battery life, and good performance. The Crafty in the other hand doesn't have a very good battery life, it will only last 45 minutes compared to Pax 2, 90 minutes, but it's by far the best performance you can get out of a portable vaporizer. It performs just like a desktop vape, it's that GOOD!!! You can make huge clouds, and the Crafty has also the ability to save you material, so you really don't need to use that much of herbs if you use the liquid pad that is included. Anyway, I think you should always use the liquid pad cause it somehow makes the performance better, as your herbs won't move inside the oven, so they will be vaporized evenly. This vape has an awesome Android-IOS app that can be downloaded for free and let's you control the temperature and also set a booster temp, and other settings such as led dimmer etc. A must have for any vaporizer collector. The Crafty is probably the best portable vape in the market in terms of performance, just like the Pax 2 is the sleekest and smartest vape out there. I love them both...

I got mine in late August to replace the DaVinci Portable Vape. That was nice, but after 3 repairs and 4 total vapes, was time to go. They have a major flaw in their design, and won't listen to customers. So does S & B with the Crafty.

Storz & Bickel have an equally bad flaw, and until they fix it, they are going to see more problems like mine creep up soon.. Here is the problem. The Button is the weakest leak because you use it to turn it off and on. The only option you have. It is not designed to be pressed over and over and over and will break over time. The button, must be pressed often if you don't want your battery to turn off after 1 minute of use. Constantly pressing something or taking a puff to let the device know you're still interested in it, isn't feasible. A one minute timer is ludicrous. The button gets jammed with debris. The heater has been taking a long time to heat up. I suspect its a design flaw with the power mechanism. With the placement of the battery, heater and button so close together, might be its downfall.

The thing lasted a total of 3 months with very average use. Spending $330 on something, I expect it to last more than 90 days. I will give S & B the chance to figure the problem out. But a repaired unit won't be acceptable. A new one or nothing. Repaired items tend to break within 60 days after the repair. Once something is repaired it is NEVER going to work properly again. A car, an AC unit, anything electronics related. New or nothing!

I just expected bigger hits from this thing, approaching the quality of my desktop vapes (SSV and Volcano). It does not perform much better than the Da Vinci portable I bought a few years ago. I've played with the heat settings to see if that was the issue without much success. I thought Storz & Bickel would deliver with big vapor output for that price, but it I just don't find it that satisfying in taste or quantity. I guess I have unrealistic expectations for a portable.

I have been using vaps for years, like since the flame heat powered Ubie and the trusty Aromazap. Even tried some of the heater plate ones in the early 90s. This thing is all that it is said to be, but here is my crafty contribution ;-): you can hold this device upside down when you pull hits, and have some water in your mouth while pulling. Thus you pull the vapor through and it bubbles (without being able to flow back into the device), adding the last little bit of cooling and filtering to what has already been very well filtered and cooled by their excellent design. I have an issue with one lung, so am highly sensitive to anything harsh or hot, which is why I have been into vaping so long. I bought this as it is not just excellent at vaping, they also designed cooling into the path the vap takes before it exits the straw, but what I just described is an awesome final touch, and unlike bong water this does not leave the water tasting nasty as you are pulling clean vapor through it. Enjoy yall!!

Disclaimer: Long-time smoker, new to vaping, so little to compare to for ratings.

Maybe vaping will never be my thing, but I'm disappointed in almost everything about the experience.

While this seems to be VERY well made and it's easy to use, it needs to be cleaned all the time (and it's not a quick thing for me to do) and each time I clean it , I bust something (a tab that holds the mouthpiece the first time, a seal ring the next, ...).

And the effect just isn't as good as smoking . . .

I'm very disappointed and wish I'd saved my money.

I was looking for a vape that would let me enjoy my herb with out having to burn it. I have a magic flight and that works, but is kinda a pain to use. This crafty on the other hand is easy to use you can't scorch the herb as each bowl is vaped evenly all the way through without having to shake or stir. You get plenty of vapor with each hit. I get about 3-4 sessions with my crafty. Usually I get two sessions with the low heat setting and one session with the boost. After using this vape I don't like burning anymore.

My first vaporizer was a pen model and I had a great deal of frustration with that. When I was looking to upgrade the Crafty portable looked like an impressive device but the proof was in trying it. What a difference! They have thought of everything. From the device used to load your buds into the vaporizer as well as the app on your phone to monitor the temp and remaining battery there is nothing they haven't thought of to enhance your experience and make it as enjoyable as possible. You can even use the device plugged into the wall should you wear the battery down. Crafty has truly raised the bar for every other company out there to try to reach. It is a bit pricey for some people but worth every dime. You won't regret it.

THE portable vape! Incredibly smooth, yet powerful punch! Turns dedicated smokers into vapers!

Had the original Pax for a few years and was looking for a new portable vape experience.
Pax is great, but the Crafty has won my heart!
The Crafty allows you to blow thick clouds with little-to-no draw resistance. No more inhaling to the point of lightheadedness and saying "I think it worked".
I love the filling aid tool, perfect for the on-the-go style of the vape. Just attach it on top of the filling chamber and use that Macgyver-like orange tool to push it down the hole into the filling chamber. Love how it slides right back into the crafty because it could probably get lost easy...(Don't jinx me ;-))
Hardly ever spill my material while filling this vape, plus the mouthpiece/cooling unit slightly screws down over the filled chamber
vs. Pax whose chamber lid would pop off accidentally from any impact (i.e.. dropping it)

USB charger allows you to charge it just about anywhere! (Car, computer, wall). No more leaving the house and feeling annoyed b/c of a dead battery. Although I have to mention that the battery life is a little short... (1-2 full chamber packs length)

Handy app download for smartphones: includes temperature controls for standard & boosted temps.; LED light brightness (for those who want to be extra stealthy) digital versions of the manuals (full & abbrev. versions); and other miscellaneous info like #hours used, etc.

Easy cleaning with isopropyl and a few q-tips
Only need to clean the top piece where the mouthpiece connects (3 pieces that snap together)

Treat yourself to this vaporizer and you probably won't go back to other methods
I love it!

As an owner of the PAX, Ascent and Firefly and for trying the Solo and MFLB, this vaporizer hands down is the best. Not taking anything away from the others but this device seriously fucking rips. It is in much the same category for vapor production as my Cloud EVO and the flavor is pretty stout as well. I was not expecting it to perform as great as it does and other than the shortened battery life and longer charging time, I've found no other faults with it and I'm approaching 53 hours. It reminds me of a space age juice box and if you have the money to purchase one, I would highly recommend doing so (no pun intended). Thanks for the 2nd day air as well VN, you guys run shit.

Does not require frequent cleaning, heats up very quickly, produces strong vapor. The battery life does suck; sometimes I don't think it even lasts the 45 minutes I expected when I bought it--which already seemed pretty low. But it can be charged from a wall outlet, my car, or my laptop, and once it has a low level of charge it can be used while charging, so the low battery life is definitely not a deal-breaker.

This was my first everything... first with dry material, first vape, first order from VaporNation.Com. Everything has been perfect.

The Crafty itself is worth the money. I love the attention to detail, how easy it is to use, the quality of the device and iPhone app. From what I can tell, it's perfect in every way.

The filling tool, supplied grinder, and accessories are well thought out and are exactly what you need. The iPhone app is very well designed... pairs with the Crafty easier than any other Bluetooth device I've used, handy iPhone alerts, temperature control, etc.

The vape itself is perfect. Absolutely nothing burns, even when using the turbo / boost mode. Pulls are incredibly easy and smooth. The device feels as if it will last for decades. Think the same "quality German engineering" from BMW and Mercedes but with a vape.

If you have the cash, buy a Crafty. You will not regret it.

Absolutely no muss, no fuss. It's been years since I've really had a chance to regularly purchase some herb & have been using mostly with a bong or pipe. I've been dying to try vaping, because health concerns with smoking are real. The crafty is smooth and harshness is a thing of the past. Heats up quickly and will not burn your herb. I have to use very little to get my vape on, and the liquid pad allows proper vaping of the herb when using small amounts. I researched a lot and almost bought the Haze which also looks like a great vaporizer and for less money, but after reading all the literature, I didn't want to waste money and just decided to go with the best. For a premium product it gets the job done. Small enough to stick in your pocket and heats up quickly. Vapornation shipped quickly and so far the whole process, including the first setup and use was amazing. Only time will tell if this is a durable product. I've bought cheaper products in the past and just feel that you get what you pay for if you do the proper research. The money I save in vaping my herb will pay for The Crafty in no time. Thanks Storz & Bickel and Vapornation for making and carrying a great product.

This is by far the best portable i have experienced. Yes, the battery life is low, but if you don't let it get to low you can charge the Crafty while using it. It hits like a plug in vape, and can easily be used with a water pipe, or the Aquavape from Vaporfection compliments this quite nicely. Buy extra mouthpieces so you can have one to use while soaking one in the cleaner of your choice. The app for the phone works flawlessly just like the vape itself. Don't use the factory loading device, i found a Slurpy stroon (the straw spoon you get from at 7-11) is the best tool to fill the Crafty up. You will love the clouds!!!

It's a terrific product, with two cautions. First, the battery life is short. Second, the auto-turnoff should take a bit longer. But you see the problem—a longer auto-turnoff would make the battery life worse. Had I known that, I would have gotten the Mighty. Overall, though, it's a hard to complain. Build quality is superb. Taste is wonderful. Ease of use is excellent. But if pocket carry isn't a priority, consider the Mighty.

The crafty is super light weight and seems pretty durable so far. Great vapor quality lots of volume without any plastic taste as one might suspect from the appearance of the device. Three qualms first where I have been able to connect the crafty to the app it can be a major pain it's not a huge issue as it will keep your set preferences after it disconnects and is really easy to use. Perhaps they can upgrade the app to work better with a larger variety of smart phones. Second, it auto shut of way to soon you can tap it continuously but it's kind of a pain and I often forget within the 60 second maybe that can be changed with new software through the app as well. Finally the battery life is relatively short compare to the almost double time of devices like the ascent, but you can use it while it changes and your likely get your desired effect in the time given. All in all I think you pretty much get what you paid for here top quality product with a few improvements they could make next time.

I own the arizer extreme, the herbalizer, and the mflb. I love this unit and keep coming back to it. The vapor is delicious, heady, and cool especially at 180c and the clouds are big. I really like the design which is focused on functionality. It is tremendously easy to setup and use even without the app. My only con which I think is minor is battery life. I think you may only get 4 big full bowls out of a charge, which is more than enough for me but might not be for others. I've only drained it halfway in one solo session though. I think a workaround is just to get a usb battery pack. They are as cheap as like $8, and you've doubled your battery.
