Calea Zacatechichi, or "Dream Herb," is a plant used by the Chontals of Oaxaca for oneiromancy, which is a form of divination based upon dreams; it is a system of dream interpretation that uses dreams to predict the future. In addition, the herb is used to help gastrointestinal disorders, fever reduction, and helps against cathartic dysentery.
Preparation: Crushed, dry leaves are steeped in water, which makes a tea.
Effects: It has been scientifically demonstrated that extracts of Calea Z. increase the vividness and/or recollection of dreams.
