You have made a wise purchase. This SSV unit contains a ceramic heating element that has been engineered to last longer, get hotter, and reach the desired temperature faster than any other heating element on the market. The SSV is the best vaporizer on the market. It is a piece of functional artwork and will last longer than any other unit out there. Like any heating element the ceramic heater will go out eventually, it can not last forever. Your SSV is the only wand vaporizer to offer the quick change wand. This helps cut down on the time and frustration when the time comes to change the screen. The SSV is also able to diffuse essential oils and vaporize at the same time. Now the SSV can also become hands free with the attachment accessory. If you ever have any suggestions for improvements we welcome your opinions and advice!

Briefly, the vaporizer allows a person to inhale essential ingredients from herbal material without the use of fire. The Silver Surfer vaporizer uses hot air to warm the plant matter until active ingredients are heated high enough until they boil, vaporize and are absorbed by the air. Instead of using fire to burn the ingredients out of the plant matter, our product releases the ingredients quickly and efficiently without ingredient losses, tar, and odor associated with smoking.

The Silver Surfer vaporizer warms up once and is ready for the rest of the day as long as it is supervised. The glass hand piece (wand) is packed lightly, not more than 1/3 full, or around 1/4 inch. As soon as the hand piece (wand) is connected with the heating element of the vaporizer, the user inhales instant vapor through the tube! Vapor goes in clear and is exhaled as a big cloud of white mist. Your lungs are saved as they are not inhaling the plant ash and tar. The standard size hand piece offers about 4-7 big inhales before the herbal material dries and becomes brown. Stir it up and try again or unload the hand piece. The user blows through the tube to expel the spent material into a container or trash.

1. Turn on the Silver Surfer unit to full power for 2-3 minutes (there will be a red/orange glow within a minute but the glass needs to heat up also). Do not turn the knob up more than 320 degrees, or off more than the click as this will damage the temperature controller. On the first initial start up wait ten minutes for any oils to burn off of the heating element. The smoke is from hand oils and other oils from manufacturing.
2. Turn the SSV’s power back about 1/4-1/2 the full power and the unit should be ready to use all day. For the first use you should try a lower setting and gradually turn the SSV up until vaporization occurs. This will insure that you do not have the SSV turned up to high and catch your herbal matter on fire. After some use, you will be able to find a perfect setting for the SSV. Do not let your materials turn black as this is combustion and that is not what you want.
3. Grind up your herbs while the unit is heating. You can use a grinder, knife or fingers, but make sure that the material is broken up. We recommend using `SSV grinder that you can get on our website if you do not already have one.
4. Place your herbs into the wand like FIG. 1. You can accomplish this by using your fingers and putting it in or sucking up the ground herb through the wand. Do not fill the wand too much (1/3” or around 1/4 inch full is the maximum you want to put in there). You can use as little or as much as you like. Try not to fill the wand so much that when you vaporize the tobacco is touching the hand blown glass heater cover. NOTE: You do not need to use much material here. I recommend placing enough in the wand to cover the screen with about 1/8-1/4 of an inch of material. Don't sweat it, you will figure it out quickly.
5. Place the whip up to the heating element and inhale air (draw) a full breath. If when you exhale you see a white mist, you are in the zone you want to be. If there is no mist, inhale more slowly or turn up the SSV unit a little bit. You can control the amount of vapor created by varying the intensity and duration of air you inhale. Inhaling slower lets the air pass by the heater longer increasing the temperature of the air. The faster you inhale the less time air is heated so the air is a little cooler. Practice makes perfect. This is one reason there are no numbers because every user inhales different and I believe you are intelligent enough to remember your preferred temperature location.
   NOTE: Make sure that you are not inhaling too slowly or the unit is too hot. The tobacco that you are vaporizing will catch fire. If the material is black it might be turned up a little too high. You’ll get the hang of it!
6. REPLACING THE SCREEN! Some day you will need to clean your screen. This is a much less painful ordeal than it used to be until the new patent pending quick change wand. First, get your screen out with the supplied pick. You can also use a longer rod to push the screen out from the back, but it should come out from the front. To put in your new screen, put the screen in the front of the wand and push it down with your pick towards the hour glass shape in the quick change wand. When you get to the bottom do not push it, but rather flip the screen. When you flip the screen it enables the screen to catch the lip in the wand. Then just push the other side down and it will pop into place. Just remember to FLIP IT! The first time may take a little longer but you will get the hang of it and be able to put in a new screen in seconds. The Aroma Top® (how to use it)

The AromaTop is used to diffuse essential oils and fragrant oils. Fragrant oils are not used in aromatherapy and are cheaper. Essential oils are just that, the essentials of the plant that it comes from. Place the metal attachment with supplied metal “c” ring (D) on top of the Silver Surfer Vaporizer (A). Place a supplied dish (C) on top of the AromaTop attachment (B). If you are using the SSV with the AromaTop then you should turn the temperature down to about ¼ power. If you wish to vaporize turn the SSV up to your vaporizing temperature that you normally use. When you are done vaporizing turn the unit back down. The AromaTop prevents the heat from leaving out the top so the SSV gets hotter. You can now put a little water or wax and a few drops of essential oils in the AromaTop dish. You do not need a lot of water only about a tablespoon or so. Another option is to use a wax melt and add a few drops of essential oils to the wax. You can get paraffin wax at you grocery store or you can use any candle wax. Be careful with the AromaTop when it is in use, as it gets HOT to diffuse the essential oils. If the wax, water, or oils are spilled on you they will burn you, so please be careful. Place the SSV in a location that will prevent it from being knocked or bumped over when the AromaTop is in use. If you plan to move the SSV while using the Aroma Top, remove the dish before moving. This will prevent you from spilling the oils or wax. When you are ready to remove the AromaTop or dish turn the unit off to let the dish cool down. Never use any flammable oils in the SSV!

The Hands Free Attachment(how to use it)

Warning, using the HFA will scratch the inside of the SSV. Plastic boots are now here and come with your SSV. Slip them on the HFA to protect your SSV.

The HFA is an exclusive to the SSV, allowing any SSV to become a hands free vaporizer. The HFA lets you hook the wand up to the heater so you do not have to hold it. To use the hands free attachment, simply fill your wand with your favorite tobacco. Put the wand up to the heater as you normally do. Take the HFA and slip it between the wand and the housing. The wand should be snug up to the heater. If the HFA is to tight or too loose stop. You can bend the HFA to make the fit more or less snug. Every SSV is unique and hand made so some heaters stretch out more than others. This is what causes you to have to bend or turn the HFA around. If it still will not fit properly contact 7th Floor and we will take care of you. Make sure it goes on like the picture. This will make it so the plastic sleeves run on the SSV housing.




The Heater Cover and Ceramic Heater

Your heater cover can be replaced if you want to upgrade to a custom heater cover to make your SSV even more unique, or if somehow an accident happened and it was broken. To take the heater cover off just twist if back and forth while pulling up. To put on a new heater cover on, make sure the cap (A) is on over the ceramic heater (E). Then put spacer (C) next to the cap (A) and stand (D). Now slip spacer (B) over the spacer (C) and stand (D). Every heater has its own size spacer (C) as the glass heater cover has such a small tolerance. Make sure the ceramic heater is centered so when the glass heater cover goes on, the ceramic heater is not touching the glass. If the ceramic heater is touching the glass, or is not perfectly centered it is OK and will not affect the performance or life of the SSV unit, but it is best if the ceramic heater is centered if you can. Now twist the heater cover back and forth and push down. All heater covers are hand made like the SSV, so if for some reason it will not go on please contact us and we will send you out another smaller spacer or new heater cover immediately. You can diffuse some oils and vaporize a complimentary herb to really get the benefits of aromatherapy. If the herb is unsafe to smoke then it is unsafe to vaporize. Water Filter, Cooler, Moisturizer (WFCM)

The WFCM is a super cool accessory for your SSV. Fill the can with cool water and replace your mouthpiece with WFCM. Use the SSV as normal, breathing in threw the mouthpiece of the WFCM. The WFCM cools the vapor down, moistens the air and filters out any particles that may get past the screen. Each WFCM is uniquely hand made by one of our in house glass artists.


The Ice Chamber

Here is our newest addition to the SSV crew. Works a lot like the WFCM only you can add ice. The stem is removable so there are never any worries about breaking it while adding ice. The stem replaces your mouthpiece, and then slips into the ground glass joint. Again, every ice chamber is uniquely hand made by one of our highly trained, in house glass artists.

LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY

7th Floor LLC warrants, to the original purchaser only, that the Silver Surfer Herbal Vaporizer will be free from defects in material or workmanship for the original purchasers life(excluding glass and electronics). 7th Floor LLC will repair or replace the defected part for free excluding labor. We offer a 3 (three) year warranty on the electrical parts of the SSV. We offer a 30 day warranty on the glass due to manufacturer defects. Glass is not covered due to accidents. 7th Floor LLC is not responsible for shipping charges. To make a claim under this Limited Warranty, you must return the SSV unit, transportation prepaid, to: 7th Floor LLC, 1323 Paonia Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915. Warranty does not apply to any glass parts such as knob, heater cover, wand, mouthpiece or any other glass part. The 3 year warranty is voided if anything is spilled on or in it, or the SSV has been abused.

Maintenance and Service

WARNING! Opening up the Silver Surfer and tampering with any wires voids the warranty. There is no reason to open the Silver Surfer unless you are changing your base. If you are changing your base do not move the wires around as this could move the heating element around. We recommend that all service is performed by 7th Floor LLC.
