The new Pulsar APX V2 vaporizer from Pulsar is the most compact, ultra-lightweight advanced portable vaporizer in existence today. Now with an upgraded vapor path and mouthpiece, APX delivers even smoother hits. Measuring just 4" in length, the APX fits comfortably in the palm of your hand as well as your pocket, allowing you to discreetly vape your favorite dry herb strains on-the-go. Representing a new breed of affordable portable vaporizers that perform and function as well as units twice the price, the APX vaporizer has quickly become one of the most popular and best-selling portable units in its class. For the price, there's no better investment than the Pulsar APX vaporizer.

Pulsar APX

Pulsar APX V2 features a rubber control button instead of metal for a more comfortable touch. Boasting five preset heat settings ranging from 356°- 428°F, the APX can reach your desired temperature in just 30 seconds! LED lights indicate heat setting as well as battery level. A high-quality ceramic herb chamber ensures a true vaporization experience free of combustion. If portability, versatility, and affordability are at the top of your list, then the APX from Pulsar is the vape for you.

For anyone new to vaporization, picking the right portable device can be a complicated process. Trying to find an excellent unit for under $100 can be even trickier. That's why Pulsar created the APX with newbies in mind - to ensure that beginners can get an excellent introductory unit at half the price of other entry-level vapes. There's no other portable vaporizer in its class that can match the APX's performance, portability or overall versatility. Vape newcomers and novices no longer have to sacrifice functionality for affordability, as the APX embodies all of the advanced features of top-shelf units at a price that just can't be beat.

Convection heating is a must have for vape users who want absolutely no risk of combustion; hot air is drawn over the dry herb as you breathe in as opposed to being directly on the heating element. Combustion leads to ash and smoke creation; this can lead to your vapor being mixed with potentially harmful compounds found in the smoke. The Pulsar APX uses convection heating to keep your dry herb from being in direct contact with the heat source, so each millimeter is heated at the same time and the same temp. By combining complete vaporization with even heating, you’ll get a more pure, stronger flavor compared to conduction heating.

The Pulsar APX helps to conserve material thanks to its convection heating as smaller amounts can go a long way due to the airflow vaporizing every portion of your loaded chamber. Conduction heated vaporizers sometimes have to be stirred or rattled to ensure that all of your material gets consumed, this can lead to certain spots being hotter than others which will cloud your flavor with a burnt taste. Convection heating trumps conduction regarding vapor quality and flavor, with no contact between the dry herb and heating element your material is free to release 100% of its intended profile.

Constructed from ceramic the Pulsar APX is ideal for users that put flavor above all else. Ceramic chambers are ideal for flavor production because they are inert, which means there will be no extra flavors added to your herb. Coupled with the superior flavor retention ceramic ovens also have exceptional thermal properties for vaping dry herbs. The Pulsar APX doesn’t take long to heat up, and ceramic prevents the creation of “hot spots” inside the oven: this means even distribution of heat and extraction of essential compounds from the dry herb.

Pulsar designed the APX in a very straightforward way as there is only one button to control the vaporizer. Even with such simple design users still have 5 preset temperatures to choose from: 356°F, 374°F, 392°F, 410°F, and 428°F. One-button operation paired with such a wide range of temperature options makes the Pulsar APX an excellent vape for beginners and vape-veterans alike. While some vaporizers can be intimidating in their operation, the Pulsar APX won’t scare newer vape users while still being able to satisfy the more complex vape needs of experienced vapers.

To operate the Pulsar APX users just have to click the power button 5 times and then hold the button down to cycle through the temperature options. A nice, bright LED display tells you the battery and temperature level, so you don’t have to memorize any light sequences or color-to-temp combinations. An auto-shutoff feature shuts the Pulsar APX down after 5 minutes of inactivity, a nice safety feature that also helps to prevent wasting any dry herb vapor that might be produced while the vape is being stored.

A simple design makes cleaning the Pulsar APX a breeze and will help the overall lifespan of the vape. All that is needed for an adequate cleaning session is some isopropyl alcohol, q-tips, and the included cleaning tool. Remove the Pulsar APX’s mouthpiece to get to the ceramic chamber and empty out any material inside, getting out as much ABV as possible before scrubbing helps to ensure a thorough cleaning session. The provided cleaning brush is a good “first strike” option when cleaning, as it will loosen up any ABV that might have been stuck inside the chamber. Dab the q-tips in a little bit of isopropyl alcohol, not enough to drench the swab but enough to give it a little weight to help scrubbing. Gently swab the inside of the chamber making sure to cover as much surface area as possible. After you’ve cleaned the chamber to your standards flip the Pulsar APX upside-down to let it thoroughly dry out. While the chamber is drying, you can brush the mouthpiece to unlodge any stubborn ABV that might be stuck in the screen.

great portable at a great price!

I bought this when I bought my Buddha cape. I was expecting it to work as poorly as my first pen vape the atmos raw. However I was extremely surprised to learn how well this apx works. The heating element is located under the herb chamber in it's own separate location. This means unlike most cheap portables your herb using setting on a heating coil burning. This portable actually vapes! I have turned this into my daily driver at work and out and about. Turn it on low and you get no visible vapor. Great for sneaky tokes inside at work.Turn it to high for large visible clouds of vapor. I haven't tried the dab chamber yet. But as just an herbal vaporizer, you can not go wrong with this!

    Solved: Lack of screen availability

So two things bothered me in my previous review, and wanted to update it.

First: Battery life. Over time, I have found that A) it recharges in about an hour and a half and B) That charge really lasts a long time, probably through 2 fillings if you wanted two. Green charge indicator for about 3-4 times. Then yellow for at least 3, and finally red for at least 3 cycles before finally dying. That, we have found, is PLENTY to get ripped if that is what you are going for. Take and hour and a half break, and you are charged up again and ready. If you are still awake.

Second: Screens. Holy moley do these screens (5 included) get clogged fast, but the availability of both the screens and cap are zilch. VERY SIMPLE SOLUTION: On the cap, unscrew the screen holder metal piece. THEN: Get a bunch of .625 pipe screens (5/8ths size is the same). Over the top of the chamber, put a .625 brass pipe screen, and then put the cap on, minus the screen holder piece. Fits perfectly, and is a hell of a lot easier than messing with the very tiny and unavailable for purchase screens.

That's my update: USE .625 PIPE Screens, and stop worrying about the tiny ones that you can't buy anywhere. Depending on where you get them, you can get 100 of them in a package for around $7-$8 per bag.

    First time Vaper

I'm a first time vaper - but I have smoked herb for 50 years. This Vaporizer has a hard draw for a smoker but you have to learn to vape like drinking hot tea. Slower & smoother. I've stopped coughing, my apartment doesn't smell of weed, I use 1/2 the amount of herb for a larger high. I'm going to recommend this to friends at work. I work in a right to cannabis state, but I will also recommend this to friends and family across the country.

    great unit with excellent price

I really like this unit a lot. It is my goto for every session. I love the fact it is small and discreet and light weight. You can can get about 5 sessions off 1 charge so it's not the best for social gatherings. For the price I am amazed at how well it works. You will not go wrong here especially if you want to try a vaporizer.

Looking for a cheap starter vaporizer? This is likely the best you'll find.

There's not much to go into detail here because it gets a lot right. Adjustable temps, easy use, compact size, works with both oils and flower. It takes about 45 seconds to heat up but a little patience solves that problem. The battery lasts for about 5-6 heat cycles so this would work for maybe 2 people max at the same time. Those are the main caveats of the price and personally I think the price makes those completely okay. Great for a beginner.

Q: Two questions: after a short sesh,, can you leave your stash in place w unit off and come back to it later and vape again like the Firefly etc OR does the chamber remain hot like the Pax2 and 3 . I am looking for one that looks down immediately like some convection Vapes do. Some say you can leave the product in (assuming it hasn't be "used" completely) and hit it when you want througout the day without wasting product. And finally, can one "micro dose" with this vape or are you more or less required to use a bunch of product to have it function properly? I have a pax 2 so I use an adapter but often tend to waste product simply because more is needed to pack in to operate. Thanks so much for your help!

Q: How long should one charge last? I seem to have to charge mine often.

Asked By JB on November 03, 2017

A: Hey JB, the battery life of your Pulsar APX Vaporizer will vary greatly depending on your usage. If the unit is holding a charge and you are able to use the unit unplugged, we would not be inclined to infer that the battery is faulty. To extend the life of your battery you can try vaping at a lower temperature, lowering the temperature to the lowest setting between hits and moderating the length of each session. Hope this helps, please let us know if you have any further concerns, VaporNation.

Q: How many 5-minute sessions can I have with one fill before it loses potency and needs to be refilled?

Asked By anne on June 23, 2017

A: Hi Anne, Each temp setting of the Pulsar APX is optimized for dry herb. The best temp for you depends on your preference. Lower temps create smaller, flavor-rich hits. Higher temps create bigger clouds. Best Wishes, The VaporNation Team

Q: I don't seem to get much of a draw. There is no ash it just turns the leaf from green to brown. I watched a few you tube videos and the apx got great revues! I'm kind of disappointed at the moment????

Asked By Steven McJuary on April 29, 2017

A: Hey Steven, one of the difficulties of any new vaporizer is learning the proper technique for getting the best hits from your vape. If the color is changing from green to brown, then the herb is being properly heated, there should be no ash as combustion will not take place. The Pulsar APX vaporizer works best when using a series of quick "sips" to move the hot air over the dry herb, once the vapor production has started, slow and even pulls of 8-10 seconds will produce the necessary vapors to withdraw your desired effects. Thanks for your question, VaporNation

A: Hi Jacque, Yes! The Pulsar APX for dry herb features a true convection chamber made of ceramic. Best Wishes, The VaporNation Team

Asked By Brendan Cronin on April 04, 2017

A: Hi Brendan, The recipient of the package would only have to sign off on its delivery if the purchaser chose our "signature requirement" option to ensure delivery to the correct party. Best Wishes, The VaporNation Team

Q: How much herb can it hold?

Asked By Roland on March 19, 2017

A: The Pulsar APX can hold about 0.3 grams of dry herb.

Q: Is this a convection vaporizer?

Asked By Keith on August 08, 2016

A: Hi Keith, Yes, the Pulsar APX vaporizer is a full convection vaporizer. It heats dry herb using hot air rather than direct contact with a hot surface, reducing combustion and delivering much smoother, cleaner tasting vapor. Best Wishes, The VaporNation Team

Q: Can the APX be used while it's charging?

Asked By Private on March 16, 2016

A: Technically speaking, you could use the Vaporizer while it is in charge mode, but we do not recommend it. The reason being when it is in charge mode, it is accepting a charge, so when you activate your unit while it is in charge mode, you may "short circuit" you battery that way.
